Drainage issues are common problems for household dishwashers.
Better yet, they can sometimes be fixed easily, without having to contact appliance repair services. If you go to put the clean dishes away only to discover that the water hasn’t fully drained, the problem could be a clogged drainage basket or screen.
To find out if this is the case, first you’ll have to remove the water from your dishwasher’s tub and locate the drainage basket in the bottom.
Next, you’ll need to take out the screws holding the basket in place.
Once that’s done, you should be able to lift the basket off, check inside for any accumulated food scraps, and clean it out as needed. If no sizeable pieces of food are found, that’s probably not the issue.
It’s time to examine other parts of your dishwasher.
After replacing the drainage basket and screws, it’s time to examine other parts of your dishwasher that could be responsible for the water backup. Since a clogged or kinked drain hose could be the culprit. Take a look under the sink to see how the hose appears.
With a little gentle wiggling, you might be able to dislodge obstructions in the line, allowing the water to get through.
You can always run your dishwasher again to determine if that was the issue. When neither of those troubleshooting approaches does the trick; other things to check for are a jammed float switch and a burned-out pump motor or timer. These are a bit more complicated, as you’ll need a multimeter to test the parts for proper function.
Of course, when you get beyond your comfort zone with DIY dishwasher repairs, you can always call on the pros at Dependable Refrigeration, LLC, for the appliance repair services you need.

PROJECT: Repair or Service an Appliance
Tim found a leaking tube to the ice cube dispenser was causing the water to leak in our freezer. He ordered the part, came back and fixed the problem. Tim was very pleasant, and professional. The appliance repair services scheduler who called me twice to set up a time for Tim to come to our house was very pleasant.
I would highly recommend Dependable.

I was very happy with the appliance repair services that I received from Dependable Refrigeration. Travis was very polite and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions in a professional manner. He quickly diagnosed which appliance was leaking water. I thought it was the washer, but it turned out the leak was coming from my gas water heater.
I have used Dependable multiple times in the past and was always satisfied with their professional service.
